The
balanced door system
is engineered to solve
design difficulties
where wind or stack
pressures make the
use of standard doors
impractical.
Through its movable
pivot point and elliptical
swing, the balanced
door opens and closes
with greater ease
than conventional
doors. Wind and stack
pressures actually
assist the swinging
motion of the door.
The balanced door
opens more quickly
and safely than it
conventional counterpart,
helping reduce congestion
and increase traffic
flow during peak periods.
As the balanced door
opens, the heel of
the door travels inward
and the leading edge
travels outward in
a small confined space.
A space savings of
30% or greater is
achieved by using
balanced doors instead
of conventional doors.
This reduces the amount
of lobby space or
sidewalk clearance
required for the entrance
allowing for greater
design freedom.
Since the opening
and closing of the
balanced door is aided
rather than hindered
by stack and wind
pressures, over-sized
or unusually heavy
doors may be easily
accommodated.
This allows for greater
design flexibility
as many of the restrictions
of conventional doors
are minimized by the
balanced door principle. |

Balanced Doors can be fabricated
only in P-Style continuous
top and bottom rails. Minimum
rail height is 4 1/4"
with square profile rail
only.
Classic standard rails are
fabricated in all of the
popular architectural metals:
aluminum, stainless steel
clad aluminum, brass clad
aluminum.
Availability of metal finishes
is dependent upon the product
specified. Standard finishes
are indicated below. Painted
finishes are available in
standard colors.

Extruded Aluminum in:
Clear, Bronze or Black
Stainless Steel Clad: #8
Mirror Polish, #4 Satin
Polish
Brass Clad: #8 Mirror
Polish, #4 Satin Polish,
Satin Oxidized Oil Rubbed
or Clear Baked Enamel

The tempered glass used
in Classic Doors is always
horizontally tempered to
eliminate tong marks and
their distortion. 3/8"
and 1/2" glass in clear,
gray or bronze is available.
All glass is fabricated
and tempered in strict accordance
with Federal Specifications.
When requested Southeastern Glass Systems will supply
and install locks. Doors will be fabricated
to accommodate push/pull
bars.
Classic Balanced Doors include
balanced hardware, header,
closer, jambs, (if concealed)
and threshold (if required).
Panic buttons and automatic openers
can be used.
